Since successfully graduating with a media certificate in Complete Make-up Artistry in 2014 from Delamar Academy of Make-up, I have been working consistently within the industry. Film and fine art have been a passion of mine from a young age and this is reflected in my skills as a makeup and hair artist. I work to a high-standard, skilled in varying aspects of makeup and hair, and have experience in designing for productions. I have proved myself an asset on set, someone who is dependable and able to go the extra mile for my department and clients. I am qualified in researching and creating makeups and hairstyles to suit any particular job and I work regularly and effectively to a production’s brief and budget.
I’m thorough and highly organised with an innate attention to detail, and a can-do attitude and I consistently maintain a high-quality whilst I work. I have excellent people and communication skills; transferable expertise I have from working within high-end retail for many years, and I am therefore capable at liaising at all levels of a production with ease. I work professionally as an assisting and daily professional artist where duties include helping in the day-to-day running of the make-up department, working to the HOD’s specifications and working quickly and efficiently to a production shooting schedule. I am always building up upon practical experience and making strong contacts within the industry; as a junior I am available for assisting senior artists and Designers within crowd, main-team or dailies; along with being available to design and lead on independent smaller productions. I'm always looking to collaborate and test with other makeup artists, hair stylists and photographers who wish to expand upon their careers and build their portfolios. I am also delighted to have been selected for the prestigious BFI Network X BAFTA Crew this year.
My training includes :
- camera-ready contemporary beauty and glam makeup and hair styling // period makeup and wigs (includes blocking, setting and styling) // casualty / trauma makeup (including out of kit SFX effects, flat-mold and pro-bondo transfers) // dirty-down and breakdown makeup // tattoo coverage // character makeup and facial hair (including blocking, knotting and application; including laying on facial hair) // body painting and airbrushing // theatrical makeup // prosthetics (including blocking, sculpting and application) // fashion/editorial makeup // afro and textured hair styling, setting and cutting //
hairdressing and barbering and male grooming // maintaining continuity using an organised system and script breakdown -
Apart from working in production I also keep myself busy with working for luxury and iconic makeup brands. I’ve had the pleasure of being on the counter for Lancôme, Urban Decay, YSL and Charlotte Tilbury to name but a few. I also volunteer for the Look Good Feel better Foundation, a charity supporting women living with cancer. I have also completed a course in Professional Salon Blow-Drying with the Blow Ltd Academy based in London. I graduated with a full GHD kit for use on clients and with advanced skills in contemporary hair styling and salon blow-drying. Most recently I completed a Professional Online Course with the wonderful Educator Michelle Garande for Afro & Textured Hair, gaining new skills and understanding in how to professionally style, maintain and set curly, kinky and tightly coiled texturized hair.
I have undertaken Screenskills, Safe Sets and Barbicide Covid-19 training course certificates for health and safety and proper sanitation within the workplace and onset. All close contact services will be carried out in the appropriate PPE. Both my Makeup, SFX and Hair Kits are up to date with the current safety standards for Covid-19 and meet the general safety and sanitation guidelines put in place by GOV.UK, HSE, PHE and BFC.
I have full insurance and public liability cover through BECTU and I'm available to work all around the UK and internationally.
